Lakedell 4-H Lighthorse Club Launches 32nd Year with New Leadership

The Lakedell 4-H Lighthorse Club has officially commenced its 32nd year of operation, welcoming a diverse group of members and a new leadership team. The club currently boasts 23 equine members, one canine member, and two Cleaver members, highlighting its commitment to fostering youth involvement in equestrian and canine activities.

Elections recently took place, resulting in the selection of a dedicated group of officers. Reese Stone has been appointed as the club’s President, with Briella Schroder serving as Vice President. Jayden Anquist will fulfill the role of Secretary, while Nova Sorokowsky takes on the position of Treasurer. The club also elected representatives for various roles, including district council and club reporters, ensuring a well-rounded leadership structure.

Community Engagement and Activities

The club continues to thrive under the guidance of its General Leader, Susann Stone, and has established a strong partnership with the Lakedell Ag Society. This collaboration provides a supportive environment for equine and canine agility lessons, which are instrumental in developing skills among the members. Thursday evening rides have garnered positive feedback, and the club is excited to welcome Kim Hughes as the new instructor for the year.

On November 21, 2023, the Lakedell 4-H Lighthorse Club hosted its fourth annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. The event proved to be a resounding success, selling out and receiving enthusiastic support from the local community. Attendees enjoyed delicious spaghetti and had the opportunity to participate in a raffle featuring various baskets.

As the year progresses, club members are preparing for the upcoming Public Speaking event scheduled for January 25, 2024. This important occasion will take place at the Lakedell Ag Society, and members are encouraged to practice and refine their skills in anticipation of the event.
