Lane Reductions Start at Queen and Broadview for Major Repairs

Beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the intersection of Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue will see significant lane reductions. The city will implement one lane in each direction as part of a project focused on replacing aging streetcar tracks and watermains.

Starting at 07:00, the lane reductions will take effect on Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Davies Avenue. The City of Toronto is collaborating with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to address the infrastructure needs in this busy east-end area. Details of the Project

The project includes the replacement of two watermains, which are over 112 years old. This work will occur within the same project limits, as well as on Munro Street. The necessary changes aim to enhance the reliability and safety of the water supply and transit services in the area.

As the construction progresses, the city anticipates that lane closures will affect traffic in the vicinity for approximately three months.
