London Driver Charged After Running Red Light and Causing Crash

A man from London faces multiple charges following an incident where he allegedly drove nearly three times the legal speed limit and ran a red light, leading to a crash in the city’s east end on November 26, 2025. The event, which occurred around 18:40, involved the suspect operating a 2021 Tesla, traveling eastbound on Huron Street.

As he approached the intersection with Adelaide Street North, the suspect disregarded a red light where another vehicle was stopped. Instead of stopping, he merged into the left turn lane before making a right turn, accelerating to approximately 130 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. At this speed, he overtook several vehicles heading southbound on Adelaide Street, posing a significant risk to other road users.

The situation escalated when the suspect entered oncoming traffic, colliding with a pickup truck driven by another motorist traveling northbound. Video surveillance and dashcam footage captured the entire sequence of events, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene. Both drivers were transported to the hospital by paramedics. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries, while the suspect sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges and Ongoing Investigation

The investigation has been reassigned to the London Police Service Road Safety Section. Following the incident, a 36-year-old man from London has been charged with several offences related to his actions that evening. He appeared in court on Wednesday and is scheduled to return on January 27, 2026.
