Nine Candidates Announced for 2026 Quesnel Ambassador Program
Nine candidates have been officially announced as participants in the 2026 Quesnel Ambassador Leadership Program. This initiative aims to enhance leadership and public speaking skills among young community members while also providing valuable experience through fundraising, public appearances, and community service.
During the council meeting held on March 3, 2024, the Mayor of Quesnel, Ron Paull, welcomed the current ambassadors and introduced the new candidates along with their sponsors. The program is designed to empower youth, equipping them with the skills necessary for effective community leadership.
Grace Cassidy, one of the 2025 Quesnel Ambassadors, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming five months. “We are so excited for the next five months with our incredible candidates,” she stated. “We get to watch them grow, learn and represent our community leading up to our showcase and awards night on July 8 and 9.”
Fellow ambassador, Ociah Woodruff, highlighted the significance of the upcoming year for the program. “Miss Quesnel was first crowned in 1956, which means in 2026, we will be proudly celebrating 70 years of our tradition when we announce our next two ambassadors,” she noted. “We can’t wait to honour the history while cheering on the future of our program.”
The ceremony included a traditional pinning event led by Coun. Debra McKelvie, recognizing the participants as they embark on their leadership journey.
The candidates for the 2026 Quesnel Ambassador Leadership Program, along with their respective sponsors, are:
– Jane Agboji – Bliss!
– Daniella Agboji – William Lacy Real Estate
– Kathy Rempel – James Rempel Law Corporation
– Sebastien Denis – 768 Jet Ranger Squadron
– Nora Aziz – Regency Chrysler
– Katie Singer – Brent Bursey & Company Inc.
