Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Esquimalt Collision on August 14

A pedestrian has died following a collision in Esquimalt on August 14, 2025. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Admirals Road and Maplebank Road, which marks the boundary between Esquimalt and Songhees Nation land. The victim, a 48-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries over the weekend, according to the West Shore RCMP.
The woman was struck by a white GMC Savana van. Authorities closed the intersection for several hours to conduct a thorough investigation. The driver of the van remained at the scene, and initial findings indicate that drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as factors in the crash.
