Penguins Prevail in Thrilling 6-5 Victory Over Rangers
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins secured their sixth consecutive victory by edging the New York Rangers 6-5 in a thrilling match on March 16, 2024. Anthony Mantha and Noel Acciari each scored two goals, leading the Penguins to a strong start and ultimately a hard-fought win.
The Penguins took command early, with Mantha and Acciari netting goals within just over three minutes of each other in the first period, giving Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead. Mantha extended the advantage to 3-0 in the second with a simple tap-in goal. The home team celebrated the 10th anniversary of their 2016 Stanley Cup-winning squad, further energizing the crowd.
In the third period, Acciari and Rickard Rakell scored just 20 seconds apart, pushing the Penguins’ lead to 5-1.
