Prince Edward County Updates Blue Box Request Process
Residents of Prince Edward County now have a new process for obtaining or replacing their blue recycling boxes. Effective immediately, individuals are required to contact E360 Solutions by calling 1.866.358.3560 or emailing [email protected] to request a blue box. This change simplifies the logistics of recycling for the community, ensuring that all requests are handled directly by the service provider.
E360 Solutions will deliver the requested blue box directly to the resident’s address. New residents are eligible to receive two blue boxes free of charge. Additionally, there is no fee for replacing broken boxes. The size of new or replacement blue boxes will be 22 liters, a change intended to encourage proper sorting and prevent the use of larger boxes on wheels that may not fit the municipality’s recycling guidelines.
Changes in Recycling Management
This adjustment comes in light of recent legislative changes that have shifted the responsibility for recycling collection away from the municipality. The management and funding of recycling services in Prince Edward County is now under the jurisdiction of Circular Materials Ontario (CMO), which operates on behalf of producers. Consequently, E360 Solutions has been appointed to provide collection services within the area.
Residents should note that blue boxes are no longer available at municipal locations such as Shire Hall or landfill/transfer sites. To ensure timely pickup, residents are reminded to place their properly sorted blue boxes at the curb by 07:00 on collection days. Should a collection be missed, residents can reach out to E360 Solutions at the same contact number provided earlier.
For further inquiries regarding this new system, residents can contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, or 613.962.9108 extension 1023. Alternatively, inquiries can be directed to [email protected]. This updated process aims to streamline recycling efforts and enhance environmental sustainability within the community.
