A three-vehicle collision at the baseball diamond in the Village of Clyde caused significant traffic disruption on March 15, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m. The incident involved a semi-truck and a Ford F-150, both of which ended up in a ditch due to icy road conditions. A third vehicle was also caught in the crash as it was responding to the scene.

Emergency services, including the Westlock County fire department and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), promptly arrived to manage the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the drivers involved in the collision.

Authorities are currently working to clear the scene, which is obstructing traffic traveling westbound. This incident is part of a larger pattern of accidents in the area, attributed to a level 2 traffic advisory issued for Highways 2 and 44. The advisory comes in response to hazardous conditions created by freezing rain, which has also hindered the operations of tow trucks and limited residents’ mobility.

Local officials are urging residents to avoid any non-essential travel until conditions improve. The combination of slick roads and ongoing winter weather poses a risk for drivers in the region.

As the situation develops, authorities are monitoring the weather closely and will provide updates to ensure public safety and facilitate timely traffic management.
