Windsor Police Issue 70 Tickets During RIDE Program on Friday
The Windsor Police Service issued a total of 70 tickets for various traffic offenses during a RIDE program conducted on the night of Friday. Officers were deployed across the city, stopping 248 vehicles as part of the initiative aimed at enhancing road safety.
During the operation, officers administered three roadside tests. Fortunately, no arrests were made for impaired driving, indicating a positive response from the community. The tickets issued were primarily for serious traffic violations, including speeding, stunt driving, and distracted driving.
The Windsor Police expressed appreciation for the motorists who complied with traffic regulations. “We thank all motorists who made the responsible choice to drive sober and follow the rules of the road,” a spokesperson for the police department stated.
Implementing RIDE programs is a crucial strategy for law enforcement agencies to deter impaired driving and promote safer driving behaviors. The Windsor Police Service’s proactive approach serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety for all drivers.
