Mississauga Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Newmarket Shootings
An 18-year-old man from Mississauga faces over 20 charges, including attempted murder, following two separate shootings at the same residence in Newmarket. The incidents occurred last year, with police responding to reports of gunfire on October 16 and again on October 23, 2025.
On the first occasion, around 01:00, officers arrived at the scene near Hewitt Circle and Plantation Gate. They discovered damage to two vehicles parked in the driveway, as well as to the garage and front door of the home. At the time, the residence was occupied, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A week later, at approximately 04:40 on October 23, police received additional reports of gunfire at the same address. During this incident, a suspect fired multiple rounds at the home and the vehicles. A victim inside one of the parked vehicles sustained injuries from gunfire and was subsequently transported to the hospital. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Following these events, York Regional Police executed search warrants at residences in Mississauga and Brampton. Their efforts led to the seizure of a firearm, high-capacity magazines, and a quantity of a controlled substance. The accused, identified as Jason Tulloch, now faces a range of charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and multiple firearm-related offences.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding these shootings to contact the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team at 1-866-876-5423, extension 7817. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or via their website at www.1800222tips.com.
In a separate incident, Toronto Police charged two individuals following a large demonstration at Queen’s Park on Wednesday. During the event, it is alleged that one individual vandalized a monument, leading to an aggressive response from other protesters when officers attempted to make the arrest.
Rohtansh Saini, 22, of Toronto, faces charges for mischief related to property damage under $5,000. Another individual, Mason Wallington, 21, from Hay River, Northwest Territories, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer. Authorities encourage anyone with information about this incident to reach out to police at 416-808-3500 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or through their website at www.222tips.com.
