TTC Launches New Express Bus Route to Pearson Airport
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is introducing a new express bus route aimed at enhancing connectivity to Pearson International Airport. The 906 Airport-Humber College Express will operate between Humberwood Loop and Viscount Station at Pearson, providing essential links to the Humber College Bus Terminal and Humber College Station on Line 6 Finch West. This initiative is set to improve access for travelers wishing to reach airport terminals, the Union Pearson (UP) Express, and other transit services via the Terminal Link Train at Viscount Station.
The 906 Airport-Humber College Express will follow a comprehensive route, traveling along Humberwood Boulevard, Humberline Drive, Humber College Boulevard, Highway 27, Dixon Road, Airport Road, Bresler Drive, Campus Road, Viscount Road, and American Drive throughout the week. Buses will arrive every 15 minutes, ensuring frequent service for passengers.
With the launch of this new express route, the TTC will discontinue short trips on the 37S Islington branch that previously operated between Humberwood Loop and Humber College. This change will take effect across all time periods on weekdays and weekends. Additionally, adjustments will be made to the 37 Islington service during late evenings on Saturdays, aligning last trip times with the end of subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. An extra trip on the 37A Islington route, departing from Islington Station at 02:20, will be introduced as part of these changes.
The introduction of the 906 Airport-Humber College Express will also prompt adjustments to the Line 6 Finch West Shuttle Bus Service. Nightly service will no longer alternate trips with the 37S Islington route. All Line 6 Shuttle Buses will terminate at Humber College Bus Terminal, enhancing service efficiency.
In a bid to improve service accessibility for the surrounding community, overnight service on the 336 Finch West will be modified to stop at Humberwood Loop (Stop ID #11289) in the southbound direction, effective on both weekdays and weekends. Additionally, the 302 Kingston Rd-McCowan overnight bus route will be renumbered as the 316 Kingston Rd-McCowan to better correspond with its daytime service.
These service changes reflect the TTC’s commitment to improving public transit options and enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers in the Greater Toronto Area.
