Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Launches Exciting 2.2 Update Featuring Arena Royale
The popular multiplayer shooter, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, is set to debut its highly anticipated 2.2 update on January 22, 2024. This update introduces a brand-new game mode called Arena Royale, which combines the fast-paced excitement of arena shooters with the competitive structure of battle royale games. Players can expect to experience this new mode across multiple platforms, including PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
In Arena Royale, 24 players will be dropped into one of four expansive biomes, including a new urban environment known as Outskirts. The mode is designed for rapid gameplay, emphasizing constant action rather than downtime. Traditional battle royale elements, such as buy stations, have been eliminated in favor of immediate upgrades, while a respawning feature keeps players engaged, thereby maintaining the signature momentum of Splitgate.
Josh Watson, the Design Director at 1047 Games, commented on the new mode’s design philosophy, stating, “When we sat down to design Arena Royale, we knew we wanted to push it closer to that arena shooter feel. We kept coming back to this core idea: less looting, more shooting.”
The 2.2 update reinforces 1047 Games’ commitment to an arena-first design, merging the best elements of both arena shooters and battle royales. Players can look forward to fast movement, precise gunplay, and quick respawns, all while experiencing the scale and variety typical of battle royal games.
Beyond the introduction of Arena Royale, the update will also feature two new Arena maps, along with a complete set of new Mastery Challenges aimed at enhancing progression and replayability. As Splitgate: Arena Reloaded continues to evolve, it remains dedicated to delivering the high-energy gameplay that has become synonymous with the series.
With its exciting new content and features, the upcoming 2.2 update marks a significant step forward for Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, promising to engage both new players and veterans alike. As the launch date approaches, anticipation builds for how this update will reshape the gaming experience within the vibrant community surrounding this title.
