Kimberley Unveils Interactive Storymap for 2026 Capital Projects
The City of Kimberley has launched its 2026 Major Capital Projects Storymap, an innovative online tool aimed at keeping residents informed about significant infrastructure initiatives planned for the upcoming construction season. This interactive platform will be regularly updated to reflect the progress of various projects, providing a user-friendly way for community members to stay connected to local developments.
The GIS-based Storymap offers detailed information on each project, including locations, scope of work, timelines, and potential impacts on residents and neighborhoods. Users can explore individual projects and access the latest updates throughout the season, ensuring they remain informed about changes and developments in their community.
According to Nik Morissette, Senior Manager of Operations for Kimberley, “These projects represent significant investment in Kimberley’s future, and we want residents to feel fully included in that process.” He emphasized that the Storymap serves as an easy way for citizens to follow along with the ongoing work, encouraging them to check back frequently for updates.

Among the key projects highlighted in the Storymap are:
– Kimberley Ave Watermain, Sewer and Road Rehabilitation
– Centre 64 Stage & Landscaping Upgrades
– Archibald Street Bridge
– Civic Centre and Curling Rink Chiller Replacement
– Rotary Park Playground
– Kimberley Wastewater Treatment Plant
– Annual Road Rehabilitation – 307th Ave
– Annual Road Rehabilitation – 6th Ave
– Townsite Rink Resurfacing
– Lois Creek Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) Station Replacement
Residents can access the 2026 Capital Projects Storymap through the city’s official website. In addition, city staff and contractors will provide direct notifications to those affected by specific projects, ensuring that residents impacted by construction receive timely and relevant information throughout the season.
