La Hacienda Del Patron Welcomes New Ownership in Morris
La Hacienda Del Patron, a popular restaurant in Morris, has officially changed ownership, with Elizabeth Gomez taking the helm. Earlier this month, the City of Morris and the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce celebrated this transition alongside Gomez’s new membership in the chamber.
New Management and Fresh Offerings
Under Gomez’s leadership, La Hacienda Del Patron will operate from 11:00 to 22:00, Sunday through Thursday, and until 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Gomez expressed her vision for the restaurant in a recent news release, highlighting the positive changes that patrons have already observed in the service, quality, and overall atmosphere. “More than just a place to dine, La Hacienda Del Patron is a welcoming gathering space known for hosting family-friendly events and community celebrations,” she said.
The menu draws inspiration from cherished family recipes, featuring a variety of classic Mexican dishes. Diners can expect to enjoy sizzling fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, chiles rellenos, and pozole, alongside fresh seafood options and house-made salsas. To complement the meals, the restaurant offers a selection of signature margaritas, margarita flights, and specialty drinks, including micheladas and palomas.
A Community Hub for Celebrations
Gomez emphasized that her goal is to create experiences that extend beyond traditional dining. “From Paint & Sip nights to karaoke, live DJ music, and special celebrations, we pride ourselves on helping our guests commemorate life’s important moments,” she stated. The restaurant features a spacious environment suitable for business meetings, group gatherings, and private events, ensuring that everyone feels at home.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony occurred on January 9, 2024, attended by Chamber representatives, Mayor Chris Brown, city officials, and Gomez’s family and friends. In her remarks, Christina Van Yperen, President and CEO of the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce, praised the efforts of Gomez and her team. “Elizabeth and her team provide all the essentials for a great dining experience—delicious food, a fun atmosphere, and a kind staff. They have worked hard to refresh the restaurant and have succeeded,” she noted.
