Bureau County Farm Bureau Launches Grants for Ag Education

The Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation is inviting grant applications from teachers of Pre-K through eighth grade to support agricultural literacy initiatives in their classrooms. This initiative aims to enhance students’ understanding of agriculture through practical learning experiences.

Two grant options are available for educators interested in improving agricultural education. The first is a capital improvement grant, which offers up to $1,000 for purchasing classroom equipment intended for long-term use. Additionally, up to 30% of this grant can be allocated for consumable supplies. The second option is a supply grant, which provides up to $500 for educational materials and supplies.

Eligible programs for funding include classroom incubators, agriculture-themed literature, field trips, gardening projects, pollinator plots, and inviting guest speakers. These resources are designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of agricultural concepts and practices among students.
