Three schools in Kingston were placed in a hold and secure situation on October 30, 2023, after a reported break and enter in the vicinity of Alfred Crescent and Barbara Avenue. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m., prompting Kingston Police to respond quickly to the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the two suspects had already fled the scene on foot. In light of this, Kingston Secondary School, Regiopolis Notre-Dame Catholic High School, and Molly Brant Elementary School were temporarily placed in a hold and secure status as a precautionary measure while police conducted a thorough search of the surrounding neighbourhood.

According to Kingston Police, the investigation into the break and enter is ongoing. Fortunately, the hold and secure protocols were lifted later in the day, confirming that there is currently no threat to students or residents in the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward, as it remains essential to ensure community safety. The swift response from law enforcement reflects their commitment to maintaining security in local schools and surrounding neighborhoods.

As the investigation continues, Kingston schools are taking additional steps to reassure parents and guardians about student safety moving forward.
