Spa Pacifico, a wellness retreat in Mill Bay, Canada, has marked its first anniversary with a strong commitment to client satisfaction and natural skincare. Owner Ruth Tellez, originally from Colombia, opened the spa on December 17, 2022, bringing her extensive experience in the beauty industry to the community. “In Spanish, Pacifico can mean calm,” Tellez explained, emphasizing her vision for the spa as a tranquil escape.

Tellez’s journey to Mill Bay began in 2004 when she and her family relocated to Canada in search of a better life. After spending over a decade in Ontario, they sought a more temperate climate and found it on Vancouver Island. “We were looking for a place with better weather. We’re very happy here; I love the Malahat,” Tellez reflected on their transition.

Before establishing Spa Pacifico, Tellez managed Cowichan Bay Spa, which closed in November 2024 due to unforeseen circumstances. Determined to continue serving her loyal clients, she sought a new location and found a perfect opportunity in Mill Bay Village.

With 18 years of experience, Tellez is passionate about providing high-quality services. Spa Pacifico offers an extensive range of treatments, including massages, facials, and body wraps. “It’s been a very good first year. We are always friendly and provide great customer service,” she said. The team, which includes two part-time staff and full-time therapist Lucie Vidlickova, has created a welcoming atmosphere that emphasizes community connection.

The spa uses premium organic products, such as the Eminence line, which aligns with Tellez’s belief in the power of nature for healing and rejuvenation. “We believe in organics and nature because they are all based on plants and fruit,” she stated, highlighting the spa’s commitment to sustainability and wellness.

Popular services include facial treatments that boost collagen and enhance skin texture. Tellez noted that manicures and pedicures, especially using vegan nail polish, are among the most sought-after offerings. “I really enjoy doing pedicures because the connection is great,” she remarked, showcasing her dedication to creating meaningful interactions with clients.

To celebrate the new year, Spa Pacifico is offering a 15 percent discount on detox body treatments until the end of January 2024. This comprehensive treatment includes a body scrub, mask, and scalp massage, aimed at promoting relaxation and rejuvenation.

Spa Pacifico is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, located at unit 320 on the second floor at 2720 Mill Bay Rd. For more details on services and to book appointments, customers can visit their website at spapacifico.com.

Tellez has already cultivated a loyal clientele in her inaugural year, expressing her joy in connecting with clients. “They are my friends, I just love to share with them,” she said, underscoring her desire to create a rejuvenating oasis for individuals in a busy world.
