Task Force Seeks Land for New Brantford-Brant Hospital
The independent task force overseeing the establishment of a new hospital in the Brantford-Brant area has initiated a search for suitable land. As part of its site identification process, the task force has issued a formal Call for Land, inviting landowners to submit their properties for consideration as the future home of the medical facility.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of community input in shaping the hospital’s future. “The community has helped us define what matters most, and now we’re ready to find the site that will serve our region for generations to come,” stated Don Shilton, chair of the site identification task force. He expressed confidence that a fitting location for the new hospital would be identified.
Landowners interested in participating in this process can access detailed information about submission requirements through the Brant Community Healthcare System’s Biddingo portal. All proposals must be submitted by February 10, 2026, at 15:00. Following this deadline, the task force will thoroughly review the submissions to ensure they meet established criteria. A shortlist will then be compiled and evaluated.
The task force aims to present its recommendations to the board of directors of the Brant Community Healthcare in the spring of 2026. This step marks a significant milestone in the project, which seeks to enhance healthcare accessibility for residents of Brantford and Brant County. The new hospital is anticipated to address growing healthcare demands and improve medical services in the region.
As the process unfolds, the task force is committed to keeping the community informed and engaged. The eventual selection of a site will reflect the collective input from local residents, ensuring that the new facility meets the healthcare needs of the community effectively.
