In a remarkable achievement, Carson Bivins of Faith Christian scored 26 points in his team’s 72-30 victory over Unity Christian on March 5, 2024, surpassing the milestone of 1,000 career points. Bivins’ performance not only highlighted his skill but also contributed significantly to the Falcons’ dominant win.

Bivins’ 26 points were complemented by Brody Bodzioch, who added 12 points. The Falcons established control early in the game, leading by 36 points at one stage. This victory marked another successful chapter in Bivins’ high school basketball career, showcasing his consistent scoring ability throughout the season.

In other boys’ basketball action, Byron defeated Oregon 53-31. Cooper Johnson led Oregon with nine points, while Keaton Salsbury contributed eight in the loss. Meanwhile, Pearl City secured a convincing victory over Polo, finishing 60-29. JT Stephenson scored 10 points for Polo, who fell behind early, with Pearl City leading 20-2 after the first quarter.

The game between St. Bede and Amboy saw Amboy’s Colt McCoy score 19 points, but the team was unable to overcome a halftime deficit of 38-16, resulting in a 63-41 loss. Galesburg continued to struggle, losing 54-35 to Sterling, leaving Sterling with a record of 4-14 and 2-4 in the Western Big 6 Conference.

Girls Basketball Highlights

In the girls’ basketball segment, Eastland triumphed over Morrison with a score of 39-11. Morgan McCullough led Eastland with an impressive 21 points, supported by Trixie Carroll with 11 points. Morrison managed only five points from Avery White.

Dakota faced Forreston, winning 50-32. Hailee Vogt was the top scorer for Dakota with 12 points, while Tenlei Patterson contributed nine points for Forreston. In another match, Fulton defeated Polo 55-41, with Wrenn Coffey scoring 21 points and Breleigh Hayton adding 20 points. Polo’s Cam Jones led his team with 23 points.

Bowling Results

In bowling, the Dixon girls’ team scored 2,620, defeating Rockford Christian at 1,927. Madolynn Kirby led Dixon with a series score of 487. In boys’ bowling, Sterling topped Erie-Prophetstown 2,945 to 2,885, with Grady Witmer achieving a personal best of 605, including a high game of 224. Zach Phillips led the Panthers with a score of 665.
