Community Remembers John Wyatt: A Life of Family and Nature
John Wyatt, a cherished member of the community, passed away on November 11, 2025, at Extendicare Mapleview, at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Melba Wyatt and a devoted father to four children: Allan Mick (Bernice), Shelley Crawford, Mike Wyatt (Susan), and Cindy Cadham (Darrell). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, including Robin (Steve), Rick (Cindy), Shawn (Hillery), Devan, Megan (Steve), Kristie (Brent), and Miranda (Scott), along with numerous great-grandchildren.
John was not only known for his strong family ties but also for his passion for the outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, often spending time tending to his farm and garden. His dedication extended beyond personal interests; he devoted over 40 years to his career as a construction worker, making a significant impact in his field.
Celebration of Life Planned for January
A Celebration of Life event is scheduled to take place at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge on January 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor John’s memory and share their fond recollections of his life.
Arrangements for the celebration have been entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel, located at 492 Wellington Street East. For those who wish to express their condolences, memorial contributions can be made to the Echo Bay Elks, either online or by cheque.
