Acclaimed Artist Corvad Composes Soundtrack for Blind Descent Game
During the recent New Game + showcase, the collaboration between META Publishing, a subsidiary of Owlcat, and developer Pokuch was unveiled. They announced that acclaimed electronic music producer Corvad will compose the original soundtrack for their upcoming sci-fi survival game, Blind Descent, set beneath the surface of Mars.
Corvad, recognized in the electronic dance music (EDM) scene for his gritty industrial sound, will create a unique musical identity for the game. His style blends breakbeat, techno, bass, and dark electronic elements, enhancing the intense atmosphere that Blind Descent aims to deliver. The soundtrack is designed to strengthen the game’s narrative tension, utilizing dense textures and mechanical rhythms to evoke the danger and isolation players will encounter while navigating the uncharted Martian underground.
As players delve into the game, they will face a mysterious infection while struggling to survive in a hostile environment. Corvad’s composition will evolve alongside the gameplay, actively heightening suspense during critical moments. This innovative approach to the soundtrack promises to immerse players deeply into the game’s chilling narrative.
Many may already be familiar with Corvad’s work beyond gaming. His music has made notable appearances in film, television, and advertising. The track “Tesla” featured prominently in Matt Reeves’ film The Batman, while another track, “Khomus,” appeared in the television series The Penguin. He has also contributed to YSL Beauty advertising campaigns that featured Zoë Kravitz and Sho Hirano. Additionally, his work includes the track “Breakdown” in the CBS series The Equalizer, which stars Queen Latifah, as well as contributions to the video game soundtrack for Heretic’s Fork.
Looking ahead, Blind Descent is set to launch in Early Access on PC via Steam in 2026, with plans for console versions to follow alongside the full release. This collaboration between Corvad and the development team marks an exciting step for both the artist and the gaming world, promising a rich auditory experience that complements the game’s immersive narrative.
