In an innovative approach to enhancing laptop workflows, a new product called Branch offers users a practical solution for managing paper documents. Designed to clip onto the edge of a laptop screen, this slim paper holder elevates notes and printed materials into the same visual plane as the display, significantly reducing neck strain and improving productivity.

Bridging the Gap Between Digital and Analog Workspaces

Despite advancements in technology, many professionals still rely on printed materials, such as handwritten notes and reference sheets. This results in frequent movement between the screen and desk, which can disrupt focus. The Branch aims to alleviate this issue by allowing users to keep essential documents at eye level.

The design, spearheaded by Ian Bok, emphasizes minimalism and functionality. By rotating the arm of the holder, users can position up to ten A4 sheets horizontally or vertically, accommodating various document formats. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for lengthy contracts, coding printouts, or comprehensive study notes.

With an arm angled at approximately 15 degrees, Branch securely holds papers in place, preventing them from slipping off during use. The holder is compact, measuring just 17 cm in length and weighing 130 g, making it easy to transport alongside a laptop without adding significant bulk.

Designed for Modern Laptops

The Branch is compatible with screens ranging from 3 mm to 6 mm thick and is recommended for laptops sized between 13 inches and 15.6 inches, which covers a vast majority of contemporary devices. The ABS construction ensures that it grips securely without damaging the laptop’s bezels or leaving marks.

This innovative product aims to create a seamless connection between analog and digital tools. Rather than attempting to digitize notes or replace paper with software, Branch serves as a physical bridge, enhancing the user experience by keeping printed materials easily accessible.

As many individuals find they think more effectively with a pen in hand, the Branch provides a discreet and efficient upgrade to traditional workflows. By eliminating clutter and reducing strain, it allows users to focus on their tasks more effectively, ultimately contributing to improved productivity.

The launch of Branch highlights a growing recognition of the importance of balancing digital tools with traditional methods in today’s fast-paced work environments. As the lines between paper and digital continue to blur, products like Branch play a crucial role in supporting this evolution.
