Sault Ste. Marie Police are actively searching for a local teenager, Mya Johnson, who has been reported missing multiple times in recent months. In a news release issued shortly before 1 a.m. on March 19, 2024, authorities requested the public’s assistance in locating the 14-year-old girl last seen on Tuesday in the 1500 block of Wellington Street East.

Police describe Johnson as approximately 5-foot-1 with a slim build, black hair, and a distinctive heart tattoo under her left eye. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing grey jogging pants, a black puffer jacket, and a beige cardigan. Community members are encouraged to reach out with any information regarding her whereabouts.

This is not the first time Johnson has gone missing. Reports indicate she has been reported missing multiple times over the past few months but was located safely each time. The police have emphasized the importance of community awareness and vigilance in helping reunite her with her family.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at (705) 949-6300. Authorities are hopeful that public engagement will lead to a swift resolution in this case.
