The Sooke Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a missing man who was last seen over three months ago. Albert Hopcraft, a resident of Sooke, was reportedly last spotted on September 27, 2025, and authorities now believe he may be in the Victoria area, particularly in the downtown district.
Hopcraft is described as an Indigenous man, approximately 50 years old, standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He is known to wear baggy clothing or items branded with sports logos, making him recognizable to those familiar with his appearance.
The Sooke RCMP are encouraging anyone who has seen Hopcraft or has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact them. People can reach the Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241 and should reference file number 2025-6209 when providing information.
Authorities are concerned for Hopcraft’s well-being and hope that community members can aid in bringing him home safely. The police have emphasized the importance of public cooperation in missing person cases, as community tips can significantly assist in investigations.
As the search continues, the Sooke RCMP remain dedicated to finding Hopcraft and urge those who may have seen him to come forward. Every piece of information counts, and the commitment of the community can play a pivotal role in ensuring his safe return.
