Three Arrested Following Armed Home Invasion in Sarnia
A home invasion in Sarnia on January 5, 2024, has resulted in the arrest of three individuals, with charges pending against a fourth suspect. At approximately 19:45 local time, police received reports of an armed intrusion at a residence located on the 100 block of Christina Street South. Witnesses indicated that four individuals, including two masked men and two women, forcibly entered the home, potentially armed with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers quickly identified two of the suspects, prompting the deployment of a K9 unit to assist in the search. The K9 unit successfully located the suspects along with a knife at an apartment on George Street. Authorities were able to gather crucial information that led them to a residence at the intersection of Devine Street and Queen Street.
During preparations to execute a search warrant at this location, one of the suspects was spotted fleeing through a basement window. The police dog tracked the individual and apprehended them shortly thereafter. The arrested individuals include a 21-year-old, a 28-year-old, and a minor under the age of 18.
The suspects now face multiple charges, including break and enter, possession of a weapon, and use of a firearm in the commission of an offence. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to seek the fourth suspect involved in the incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community support in ensuring public safety.
